The Gita Way- Secret Recipe to achieve the purpose of life

The authors have tried to explain the crux of the Gita and how it applies to the modern world. It revolves around the concept of “purpose of life”.

The purpose of life is to find our unique strengths, which is our trade or craft or business, and then live life in pursuit of it. There is no ultimate or singular purpose in life; everyone has their version. There should be no desires when working towards our goals; it is not our true goal if there are. Failures do not discourage us; instead, the act is so enjoyable that we persist in the face of failures.

Several things stop us from realising our true goal. The pleasure of the senses is short-lived and only distracts us. We should learn to control our feelings and only act out of our duty. Wealth is the outcome of our pursuit. It cannot be the goal itself. The central theme to remember is that all our focus and energy should be on the action and not the anticipation of the results.

One may need to realise that our efforts do not guarantee outcomes. Each person has their destiny. Destiny depends on factors outside one’s control because the world is an inherently complex place. Still, worrying about the future does not do any good, and we should focus only on things we can control - our actions. The only way to get a good outcome is to be in control of our actions and not try to control outcomes.
